Fire Clearing - City Projects
Adopt-a-Sliver
The City is in need of 1:1 match for a State Fire Assistance grant to pay for professional treatments of these properties and is in the process of developing a strategy for managing vegetation on “City Sliver” properties, through a cooperative program between the City and its residents.
Fire Clearing Projects
The City's Division Chief has been completing fire clearing projects on City owned open space parcels. Chief Goodspeed has completed applications to hire Cal Fire Washington Ridge crews to complete the work. Below are pictures of the work that was completed on Sugarloaf Mountain, Indian Trails Subdivision and near Little Deer Creek Trail.

Firewise Map of City Owned Properties
The City created a Firewise Map to highlight all properties owned by the City that need regular clearing for wildfire protection. View the map to see if there is a "sliver" in your community that you can help keep maintained.
