On November 3, 2020 Nevada City voters approved Measure L which established that the City would no longer have a publicly elected City Treasurer. The term for the previously elected City Treasurer ended on June 30, 2022. The statutory duties of the City Treasurer are now assigned to the City Manager and his designee. All accounting, budgeting, auditing, and fiduciary activities are delegated to the City's Chief Financial Officer. 

The City Investment Policy is updated annually by the City Council. The City Manager is responsible for investments of City funds in coordination with the City's contracted financial advisor / investment firm.
