Facility Rental Information
The Nevada City Parks & Recreation Department manages several facilities for use by the public. Whether you are planning an event for a non-profit organization, a birthday party or a wedding, one of the City facilities will be the perfect match for you. The rental fees are reasonably priced, the facilities are conveniently located near downtown Nevada City and decorations are optional because of the quaint, rustic style of these facilities.

The City also owns and manages Firehouse #2, Robinson Plaza and Calanan Park. These locations are sometimes allowed use for events through our
Special Event Application process. If you are interested in one of these facilities, complete the
Special Event Application and complete as instructed.
Basic Rental Requirements
Every renter must provide the following items.
1. Non-refundable Deposit (to hold date)
2. Completed Contract
3. Rental Fee
4. Refundable Security Deposit
5. Certificate of Insurance (More information is available below.)
If you are having a larger event or an event that is open to the public, additional requirements may apply.
Insurance
Proof of insurance is required from all Renters. A current and valid certificate of General Liability Insurance must be provided, in the amount of $1,000,000 and an endorsement (CG2026 or equivalent) naming the City of Nevada City, 317 Broad St. Nevada City, CA 95959 as additional insured. Proof of Insurance must be provided at least 30 days prior to the rental date.
If an event at the Bandshell will have more than 400 attendees/participants, a $2,000,000 limit is required.

For private events, the insurance can generally be requested through the renter's homeowner's insurance agent. Fees may apply. If you do not own your home or want to compare rates, there are places online that insurance can be purchased. Here are links to some options:
