The Finance and Administration Department has a diverse set of responsibilities. In addition to managing the City’s finances and budgeting, this department acts as the City’s Risk Management department, Human Resource Department and General City Administration. There are 4 full-time employees in this department; a Director of Finance/Deputy City Treasurer, Senior Clerk/Deputy City Clerk, Customer Service Clerk and Account Clerk.

How often should I receive a Utility Bill?
Water and Sewer bills are sent out bi-monthly; in arrears. (ie: When you receive your bill in January the charges are for November and December use.)

Do you accept debit/credit cards? Can I pay over the phone or via the City’s website?
Water/Sewer payments can be made with a credit card.  Only water/sewer payments can be made with a credit card.  Parking tickets, recreation fees and other payments must still be paid with cash or check.  Click here for information on how to pay with a credit card. 

Do I need a business license?
Yes, if you are conducting business within City limits. To obtain a Business License, you will need to file an Application at City Hall, along with applicable fees.

Where do I get a burn permit or dog license?
These are both handled at City Hall. Office hours are Monday – Thursday; 8am-12pm and 1-5pm

How do I set up a new utility account?
If you have just moved into a new residence or are a new renter, contact City Hall (530-265-2496).

How do I report a Public Works emergency?
During business hours (Monday – Thursday; 8:00am-12:00pm & 1:00pm-5:00pm), call City Hall (530-265-2496), the front counter staff will dispatch a Public Works employee to investigate your emergency or concern. Evenings and weekends call the Police Dept. at 530-265-2626 and they will contact a Public Works employee.

How do I get a copy of City Hall records?
Come to City Hall and complete a Request for Records Form. Copies are 25¢ each.
